really enjoyed your Watch story. Some rituals, besides being necessary, create a calmness in those involved.

Long may you ponder, and write, Captain.πŸ«–

Life is what it is. Thank you for the posts that are available to everyone on the sliding scale of affordablity.πŸ€·β€β™€οΈ

All of this post is interesting to myself. The red ochre cave is fascinating. 'History' sure isn't what we were taught in school in the mid 20 th Century! Recently a 14,000+ year old human settlement has been discovered on an island off the west coast of Canada. First Nations have oral history from before that time. "Who knew?" said sarcastically by me at our society of 'if it can't be dug up, x-rayed, handled or categorised, it isn't true'.

Indigenous Peoples in the far north of North America use words found in languages of Indigenous Peoples in the far south of South America.

Recent documentaries, portray T-Rexes with feathers...

I prefer to read rather than write. I fear I could cross over into the GOWOL far too easily. Most of my comments get deleted by me, or sent by accident while scrolling to edit the Grumpy Old Woman Online sound of them. 🀭

Please, "carry on"!πŸ˜‰

Using my name in every post creeps me out. I like your writings, but that’s kinda too much.

I love your writing and can buy you a tea, but I'll do it from my laptop. I don't do any financial business on my phone.🀎

Loved the slack water explanation for painting another picture of retirement. It felt pretty perfect.

"Nobody to witness", ahh, now you have arrived at the crux of the matter hitting many of us in retirement.

Your pictures are gorgeous. The morning mist floating just above the ground before it would disappear was stunning!

You have a gift of painting pictures with words, Captain. The "pewter grey water" and the blue flash of a Kingfisher are as sharp as any image.

Cheerio as outside my window, Crows hunt in the grass, and a doe Deer strolls by carefully on the sidewalk, stopping at the 4 way intersection to look each direction before crossing.

Fair winds and following seas, Captain of a totally different world than previously. Enjoy your sauces! Happy gardening!

Over and out from my retirement world a few years ahead of you. Without a proper subscription, I shall try not to bother you again.

I might start calling you Slack Water. 😜

Personally I’d add an β€œs” onto the surname…. Slack Waters. That gives it a more bluesy/R β€˜n’ B feel!
